Art Therapy Helps Autistic Adults Thrive

Proud, peaceful, stress-free, excited, happy, creative… these are some of the words our members used when we asked how Art Therapy makes them feel.

For many of our members, Art Therapy is a chance to slow down, explore their creativity and express themselves in a way that feels natural to them. It can be a space to relax and focus, try something new, or simply enjoy the process of making something.

And when they can’t always put their feelings into words, they can show us through their art.

At PASS, we see how meaningful these opportunities can be. Art Therapy gives our members a way to explore their ideas and emotions while building confidence and having fun. Each person can participate in a way that works for them, whether they are following a project, experimenting with different materials, or creating something entirely their own.

Most importantly, it is a space where there is no right or wrong way to create. What matters is that our members have the opportunity to express themselves and enjoy being creative.

We’re incredibly grateful to Unity for Autism for supporting Art Therapy at PASS. Their support helps make these sessions possible for autistic and neurodivergent adults in our community and gives our members more opportunities to learn, create and connect.
